Posted - 29 juil. 2011 : 04:03:39 Interesting.. I've been grabbing POI's at POIFriend but never realized that the file wasn't assembled by Tim's themselves. It's all moot now.. poifriend.com shut down as of June 30, 2011. I hope someone sets up another website devoted to POI's. |

Posted - 11 avr. 2011 : 15:33:23 was news to me and something i've been looking for for years - that retailers offer these downloads. thanks for putting it all together - it just makes sense for them to offer it right on their webpage. your comment is funny about the 'intentional' misspellings. i read years ago about a company doing same - eg adding the 'city' Goblu in michigan -- no such city and was actually an homage to his alma mater! |

Posted - 06 avr. 2011 : 19:49:32 Two things:
1. This is not news. Tim Hortons has made their POIs available through POI Friend, linked through their website, for well over two years now. 2. The Tim Hortons/POI Friend database was taken from the one I provided on this site! Scott from Operations Services of The TDL Group Corp. (as it was called at the time) provided me with a store list which I reconciled with the existing GPSPassion list and meticulously geo-coded the discrepancies. It took me weeks to complete. POI Friend then posted my final geocoded database on their website and have been updating it from this base with input from their members ever since. How do I know it's the same GPSPassion database? I put certain "markers" in the data. I won't list all the marker techniques, but one is to intentionally misspell a set number of street names at random locations. When all these intentional misspellings match up between the two databases, you know the data has been copied.
This is why the database here has not been updated for years. |

Posted - 06 sept. 2009 : 22:28:03 Converted csv file into kml file... manually. Using Magellan "Content Manager" imported the file into Maestro 4350 as a user POI. Works fine! Thank you for creating such a huge list! |

Posted - 16 oct. 2008 : 16:29:30 Hey guys, I'm new here and new to my Magellan 4250. I'm trying to load up the Tim Hortons POIs, but i'm having problems. I can get the file to import into Magellan POI software, the points appear correctly on the map there, but when I copy it over to my GPS, a ton of them are missing.
There's a Tim Hortons less than a mile from my house, and it is in the CSV file, but when I use the GPS it points me to one that's 15 miles away. I'm in Western NY, and there's literally a dozen Tim Hortons closer than the one it's pointing me to. Its there some kind of limit to the number of POIs the Magellan software can handle? I tried creating a file with just US locations (much smaller) and that had the same result.
Help!
Thanks, Blue. |

Posted - 15 août 2008 : 00:22:25 I have downloaded and installed the Tim's POI's - thanks to everyone for their work. have a question though...when I look up those on my Zumo all I can see is the list of Tims, and how far away they are. Is there any way to have the list show the location, address or maybe just the city? Thanks |
