Product page on the Navigon site : link Navigon have just announced a new model in their lineup, the 2100 Max, in essence a 2100 with a 4.3", 16/9 widescreen. Up to now, the 16/9 format was only available on the high-end 7100 GPS system. More details on the Navigon site : >> HERE <<

Posted - 23 juin 2008 : 23:06:56 Can someone post the content of the their root directory in 2100 Max? I think I read somewhere that it had navigon.exe instead of autorunce.exe, but oddly mine seem to have autorunce.exe. I wonder if it had a wrong SD card with my product. The label on the SD card said 2100 Max, but I want to know if the content also matches a real 2100 Max.
Also, can someone confirm which windows CE edition it is running. The box claims 5.0, but the hacks designed for it doesn't seem to work in my unit. |

Posted - 13 mars 2008 : 19:42:47 Actually I just found out that the North American 2100 Max will still be running MN|6 so the only differences between the two will be :
- 16/9 display
- Lane Assistant: provides simple to view lane guidance to assist drivers in making the correct upcoming maneuver.
- DirectHelp™: "provides instant access to directions and phone numbers of emergency services at the touch of a button. Finds the nearest hospital, police station, tow truck company or pharmacy, and indicates your exact location to help these services locate you." |

Posted - 13 mars 2008 : 17:10:02 I am not expecting miracles, but I would hope that this upgrade might make it's way to the current 2100 since the hardware seems so similar. Maybe it would be possible to run it strait out of the box even if Navigon does not put out a official release. |

Posted - 12 mars 2008 : 21:44:32 Hard to tell at this point, but keep in mind it's an entry-level unit with cheaper components than the 7100 or upcoming 8100 so if you add the burden of handling 70% more resolution compared to the 2100 you can't expect miracles even if the v7 software is optimized compared to v6. |

Posted - 12 mars 2008 : 21:29:21 It looks like the specs are the same as the 2100, 400 MHZ, 64 MB ROM, 64 MB RAM.
Will there be an option for the interface as I do like the current fill option. The smart speller is a very nice feature, but I would still like it filling in the entire name as it goes.
Also, the smart speller needs to be fast while the current fill is very slow. Will there be some was to speed up the process like a faster card reader on the Max, or is the full search just so slow on the correct models?
Thanks |

Posted - 05 mars 2008 : 02:09:33 I'm sure the hardware is much beefier in the 2100 max. I also bet it'll be using the new MN7 (i believe it's 7). We might get a few of the "fixes" in the promised update that will hopefully fix the routing problems on the 2100 but I personally don't expect an real new "features" in the current 2100. |

Posted - 05 mars 2008 : 00:52:45 Boy, it looks like Navigon has put all the goodies into the new 2100 max and forgot all about us small 2100 people. |

Posted - 05 mars 2008 : 00:15:24 I wonder what they are referring to, maybe some of the enhancements seen on the upcoming 8110, faster interface and updated "extended lanes", called "Lane Assistant Pro" now. I wonder if I didn't prefer the old version with the arrows in the middle.

Their site also says it uses NEW SOFTWARE TECHNOLOGY.(see quote below) What is the chance for an update to the 2100?
"There is one particular reason why the NAVIGON 2110 is capable of such high performance: NAVIGON has incorporated brand new software technology in this new piece of equipment. "The 2110 max is one of the fastest and most accurate navigators of its kind", confirms Jörn Watzke.
