I have created 2 files: - malap_StarbucksUSA.zip - malap_StarbucksCanada.zip
As I mentioned in my previous post, I have created a small application which is able to query starbucks.com and retrieve the complete list of stores.
Both files work well on my Garmin c530.
I have also included some useful tags in the 3rd column (store name). The tags are as follows: - [D] = "Drive-through window" - [W] = "Wireless access" - [A] = "Airport"
So when querying the GPS, you may see the following: "Starbucks [DW]", which would indicate that this Starbucks has a drive-through window and wireless access.
Feel free to let me know if you find anything unusual.
Thanks, --Martin
Thanks! I am a huge Starbucks fan and I travel all over the US and Canada for my job. I tried to convert your files for my TomTom Go700 using the latest POI Edit and I get error messages no matter which .csv format I try. I am not too familiar with XL so the ealier post suggesting the "CTRL+J" search and replace was kind of lost on me. Would you be willing to convert your files to ov2 or better yet tell me in detail how to convert the files myself? I would like to use you method to create other lists. Thanks in advance. Dan

Posted - 26 juin 2008 : 05:30:23 Buckoboy, I'm not sure how much Garmin's POI uploader has advanced since my old Streetpilot i5, but if you download Garmin's POI Loader from their website and run it, then that should upload the csv file to your nuvi. Note that if you have multiple csv files you'll be using, they must all be in the same folder when you run POI Loader since that application asks for an upload folder and not a file. Starbucks POIs get updated after a few changes get posted. I just haven't had 15 minutes to sit and add the last few. The link on the first page of this topic will always have the latest Starbucks file. It looks like there are a few updates, and once I get a second, I'll update the files and repost them here. |

Posted - 24 juin 2008 : 05:59:38 Hey, great site and postings. I'm a traveling guy and I do alot of travels in the US. I have a nuvi, a couple of them. Starbucks is a second home to me, and I'm really wanting to know how to get these files on my 760. Also, since I visit a bunch of them I would like to know if it is possible for me to help in updating? How often are these updated, and where are the new updates posted?
Keep on Rolling :) |

Posted - 30 mars 2008 : 04:12:37 it depends on what unit you're using. In my garmin, when I go to select a starbucks, I select more information or something like that and at that point it shows the address and phone number. I'm not sure why you're not seeing it in the csv file. Note that there are 2 csv files. One has linefeeds in it which the garmin accepts. I know at one time that tomtom didnt recognize linefeeds. Hence the other file. You should be able to see the phone numbers in both files if you open them in either excel or even notepad. |
