Fred Lynx has done this a looooong time ago and released an app. If you are wanting to do on-the-fly decompression it would be great if with this app could just pass arguments to it to compress/decompress files, but I highly doubt it supports that currently. You have to do it manually, but it does do batch jobs. He has not been active on that site for a while, and there is no source code, but maybe you can try contacting him.

Gary is pretty much out of the GPS scene, his interests are focused elsewhere.

I am the author of iGoSkinWizard http://www.igo8mods.com/sw/ , and I could use some help encoding the resized bitmaps. I saw user garygid started an attempt to reverse-engineer the iGo RLE bitmap format back on page 28. Did anyone make any more progress on this? I can't seem to be able to send emails from this forum, so I can't contact him/her personally.

Thanks,

how i can change skin on c310x
kingsgraphic Posted - 21 août 2008 : 08:48:43
I've installed Riks 4.4 data, and get repeated lock-ups of the GPS including the 'on/off' button. The only way back is to do a soft reset. This seems to follow certain keystokes. Anyone else had this problem? Anyway I'm installing the bog-standard data for now. At least it works.

I have the ever popular Moonbear skin installed on my c310x. Is there an easy way to increase the font size of the current speed, particularly in 3D/Cockpit view?

Thanks ES0090, if I make any changes I'll PM you with the results. Playing with it now...

You can't change the transparency as it is now. Its something you could add in if you had the time and patience. As far as I know you would need to make additional bars with the transparency you want. Also for the turn bar, you could add one in. How, i don't know other than finding a skin with it tweaking it for your skin. I have'nt done anything with these skins in over a year, and even then my skills were limited to mostly graphical changes.

My sys.txt is the original it came with. I don't think I've changed anything. Also in the skin, there's a quick lil shortcut if you want to change the Bar/Font colors, just click the Battery.

You can definately link my skin from your site, thanks.

ES0090 That is gorgeous. I'm d/l'ing it now. Very nice settings here:
quote:

; Navigation bar color
; 0 = Blue Vapor, 1 = Chrome, 2 = Ivy, 3 = Regal, 4 = Journey, 5 = Core, 6 = Journey v2,
; 7 = Regal Type2, 8 = Charcoal, 9 = Golf, 10 = Quiksilver Style, 11 = Carbonized, 12 = Split,
; 13 = None
<var vTransNavBar=2>

; Cockpit bar color
; 0 = Blue Vapor, 1 = Chrome, 2 = Ivy, 3 = Regal, 4 = Journey, 5 = Core, 6 = Journey v2,
; 7 = Regal Type2, 8 = Charcoal, 9 = Golf, 10 = Quiksilver Style, 11 = Carbonized, 12 = Split,
; 13 = None
<var vTransCockpitBar=2>

; Navigation bar font color
; 0 = white, 1 = red, 2 = yellow, 3 = lightblue, 4 = gray, 5 = khaki
; 6 = orange, 7 = olive, 8 = blue, 9 = lime, 10 = pink, 11 = green
<var vNavBarColor=2>

Two questions for you - (1) Can I adjust the transparency of top and bottom nav bars? (2) Have you tried to interface a turn guidance bar on the left side? I've been trying for something like 8 months to get a setup like you've got, but with a turn guidance bar indicating the position in each turn. You know, changes color as you turn....

Okay, make it three questions - Do you have any modifications to your sys.txt file? The reason I ask is I've been playing around with mine and various entries seem to really slow down the loading of MioMap.exe when I've got it full.

All I have in it now are:

quote:

[debug]
smart_2d=1
slowsim=0
loop_sim=1
show_speed_limit=1
show_optional_routeinfo=1
show_icons=1

[interface]
mio=1

[speedcam]
usemio=-12,90,37,27

Any suggestions?
.

Not sure if people are still using 3.2, but if you are my Fusion skin is still around. Nothing's been updated on it in a year, but I pulled it out the other day on my old Mio and still think it looks pretty cool.

Anyone know how to get miomap to display the block/house numbers of the street you are currently on?
Jen5 Posted - 30 avr. 2008 : 23:54:42
I think I made a big mistake. I didnt realize and used mio updater and it updated my ver 3.2 to 3.3 and now im unable to load mimap. I tried running different skins I tried running the original. But it must have installed another file. Iwas running Bupahs taskbar 3.5 as an unlocking hack however it wont let me go back there with a hard reset. I just get an error unable to open application database. In his hack you rename the original miomap to miomap2 and I think what happened is it installed the data.zip to the other miomap folder. I dont know because I never ran 3.3 before. I dont believe there was a data.zip file there before as it was the one bupah was using to run his hack. I have no problem dumping that and using miopocket or something else I just have to know where to start. Please Help.

Which of the skins will give me a minimize ability with a c220 running 3.2 . I would like to watch a movie and still have navigation ability. Tried Smart Blue 7.2 doesnt seem to have minimize. Shows correctly

Also I tried quicksilver 1.0 but it only shows in portrait not landscape mode. i cant really check out the skin this way. Any suggestions. Tried Journey also only shows in portrait. Thanks

@Jen5,

Your thinking is correct. With MioMap 3.2 you need to replace the existing DATA.ZIP in the MioMap folder with the .ZIP file containing Roscoe's Journey skin. Make sure that you make a backup copy of your standard DATA.ZIP before overwriting it. You need to rename the Journey skin .ZIP file to DATA.ZIP.

That should be all you need to do.

Cheers, Ian
