First PDAPhone with built-in (A)GPS
HP Navigation System in the US (Intellinav based) and TomTom in Europe

News item on the site
Over the past few days, information has been circulating about the first PDAPhone with a built-in GPS that joins the ranks of PDAs sporting a GPS such as the Mio168 or Garmin iQue's. Other items of note include the first ever "square" screen on a PocketPC (240x240 pixels versus the usual 4/3 display in 320x240 or 640x480) likely to allow for the presence of a keyboard without unduly "stretching" the device.
In anticipation of its official launch at the 3GSM in Cannes next week (coverage in GpsPasSion Live !), here's a GpsPasSion exclusive, the first "user" pics of the hw6500.
First and obvious comment, the GPS antenna is internal, which could hurt performance given the RF interference of all the built-in electronics, but fortunately there's an antenna connector that could help in rough environments.
To be continued...

just to let you know : I install Google Maps on my HP Ipaq 6515 and it work superb with Qstarz Q1200 Bluetooth Solar GPS Travel Recorder. One can use Google Maps both as navi application on the map and as the satelite view :)Don´t forget about GPS settings in all yours navi applications. All GPS applications : BeeLine GPS, Google Maps, navi specific for Poland work very good with this external GPS modul.
So, all of you having problems with Ipaq´s the "old" A-Gps and Quick GPS connection data - just go over to the Bluetooth GPS Receiver like Q1200 or for ex. iBlue 737/Qstarz 810. ( I tested even this one with my PDA and my cellphone - it works very good too )

Welcome to the forums, and good news on making this work. I seem to remember the GPS was a bit picky on the 6515, but using GPS Gate could help. Anyway with your external Bluetooth receiver you will be getting better GPS performance and better battery life.

Hi, I had gps problem where my HP 6515 couldn't detect gps at com7 via mapking software. No problem with gps fix, this was up to date. After few tests I bought a new GPS receiver, Qstarz Super 99 BT Q1200 Bluetooth Solar GPS Travel Recorder with built in GPS chipset MTK. I simply establish a bluetooth connection on com 5, 115200 bps and this works PERFECT! Both my navi application specific for Poland , TomTom for Western Europe and Beeline GPS for pleasure. :D.
I use this Gps receiver even for Sony Ericsson k610i, with another navi application for Poland. It work PERFECT to ! Very fast, very accurate GPS. So, for now I use my HP 6515 only for gps/navi. Tracking, geocaching, navigating.

gpspassion i'd seen few of your post however i'd seen u r quite well in gps issues. Therefore mite need a lil assistance from u n help. Well, i had this gps problem where my HP 6515 couldn't detect gps at com7 via mapking software, im currently staying in malaysia. This problem had bite me 2 weeks ago. Sometimes in the full moon it will work. Its not the problem of getting a fix but the gps detection. It couldn't find any gps. So what i did is i drain the backup battery n recharge....guess what...it work like charm for a day, and there the problem starts again (NOTE! i always update the quick gps...once i forgotten to update, but after that i updated regularly). Got kinda frustrating and did sum experiment. But i found out that everytime i hard reset and restore the backup the gps could be found again, for once and about twice it started again. I did few hard reset and it happens the same. What could be the problem? is it backup battery fault? firmware of Qgps not updated? the firmware of rom not updated? hardware problem? pls....i hope you can help me out...cus im lost..(sorry for the long story)

I have an HP HW 6515, I've been having trouble down loading the updated quick GPS files either through GPRS or through my lap top. I down loaded QuickGPS icon and version 2.03, as per the first post. I can now down load the new quick GPS files via the lap top but still can't do this on the move via the GPRS, it appears to connect but then the error message unable to communicate with the file server, Details, NameResolutionFailure. Does any one have any ideas of how to sort out the problem with down loading the up to date files without going through the lap top. Thanks in hopeful anticipation,

Would be even more useful now that the 10day file is no longer available for free, unless you can switch to 7 days ?
"10 day LTO is no longer freely available. 7 day LTO is available at http://gllto.glpals.com/7day/latest "

Ah ok, that makes sense ;-) Sure you can upload it using this method http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14251

Hi I got it from an italian forum. The original file was not 10days..it was the standard 2 day file.
I modified it to use the 10day updates and then accidentally linked that for download. If anyone wants the original 2.06 file i can send it into admin maybe?

the 10 day is not a huge deal to me as i keep the agps updated continuously through gprs. the performance is what matters to me and like i said, i don't see a significant difference. maybe 2.06 is just 2.03 plus the 10 day file? i was hoping this update would allow me to get a better signal in downtown seattle. didn't really help with that though. i think ss3 plus instant fix with the x500 might do the trick. i'll wait for your review on that and decide.

Link ? Well they hadn't really linked before, just made it available through their site for a short while, not sure where "alnug" got it from. It does look legit based on the updated build number, maybe a test build, still surprised they would go with the 10 day file by default.
