The newest version of the Garmin Zumo is on it's way. The 350 is now listed on the Garmin website:

Are the motorcycle folks going to go for Trip Planner?

Yes, the placement is a bit odd, maybe they'll "upgrade" the planning mode to make it similar to the 660s ?

As for TrackDraw I did find a reference to it but it's in...BaseCamp where you can indeed see the profile of a planned route (I think MapSource had that too, or was it only for recorded tracks?). So it's only good before you head out, not (yet) to get profiles on the move. The only way I know how to do that at this time is with the Locus Pro Android app, either by downloading an SRTM file or by connecting to their servers.

TrackDraw sounds interesting, but like you I cannot find any details.

Garmin has revealed that the 350 has more than 7 GB of internal storage -- good "future proofing" for the problem zumo 550 owners are experiencing where map updates don't fit.

But pricing the 350 at $699 (US) seems odd given that it appears to fit between the zumo 220 and 66x models, the latter costing about $650 from Amazon these days. Most bikers I know or correspond with are still looking for an upgrade to the 660, not a middle model that may be crippled for trip planning.

I just bumped into a presentation of the Zumo 340, presumably the European version of the 350, and they mention a new feature called TrackDraw that shows the profile of a planned route, something I've been wanting to see on GPS systems for a long time...oddly enough I can't find any mention of it anywhere else.

NOOOOO!

It's funny, most of the complaints about the new zumo models' features I've read so far in the bike community are about lack of MP3 or XM Radio. But I think that is only because the true awfulness of Trip Wrecker, I mean Planner, has not yet been revealed to them and they may not want to believe it could be that bad.

The number one thing on most bike wish lists I've seen is MORE ability to pre-plan routes and make sure they do not recalc, not LESS. And in general, the desire is for more ability to choose options such as what data gets displayed, and avoidances -- ie more control over the GPS for power users, which is what many motorcyclists tend to be.

Bad bad move in my humble opinion. We were waiting for a fancier, smarter zumo, not a dumber one.
