PLEASE DON"T DOUBLE POST.

Since you've already asked your question in the proper thread, there is really no reason to ask it in this one which is specifically for the the 7x5 model Nuvi.

Hello. I have tried the program as listed below (quickcure with flash) for a garmin 1260 and unfortunately does not work for me. I have done as instructed but when I attempt to use quickcure, it detects the garmin but the screen goes off then back on and starts from the beggining of reboot. I do not get a loading map on the bottom, just the garmin logo only. I have tried GarminCure3, g7towin and QuickCure no dice. please help! I have been posting my results in http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?whichpage=3&TOPIC_ID=136228#1034610 under lemmycv. please, anything will help. Thank you

ha, here am I :) This doesn't need flashing patched firmwares:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/32785663/QuickCure3-with-flasher.rar

By the way, why don't you try cure3-ing the Krok Cure Firmware?
ddabcd277 Posted - 15 mai 2012 : 16:10:06
This is interesting. Could be a problem in the memory or there is problem in the patching...don't know...Mr. Kunix is a magician in developing cure firmwares firmwares that give access to the memory when there is a problem. Try to contact with him or write in the topic about cure3. Just a hint Kunix has developed a new method (incredible one) that gives access to the memory even without the need of patching the firmware - just direct access from the boot mode. Could be helpful - don't know.

That is all I can help.

thanks ddabcd277 for your answer, but it doesn't work.
I used garmincure3.exe for create the cure firmware of nuvi7x5_440.gcd
When i send the firmware into my nuvi, it stop at 99% and an error occur.
If I reboot my nuvi, I have the message "software mising".

Only the Krok Cure Firmware don't make error. The transfer is ok but when the nuvi reboot is blocked on "loading maps"

Have you a idea ? or another firmware to test ?
Thanks you a lot
Antoine

Don't use the pouchx firmwares as those firmwares are old and can be dangerous. Try this almost universal tool:

I have the problem explain by kostis007.
I can't update my firmware. The GPS cant be connected with webupdater but it can be connected with pre-boot mode.
There is only the CURE Pouchx firmware who can be accept.
The normal firmware can't be upload...

I search the USA Frimware V3.90 765US390.rgn, but i don't find it....

Have you a solution ?
Esscuse my POOR english ;-)

Sorry... I don't know what else you could try.
I suggest that you contact Garmin Support and see what they have to say.
kostis007 Posted - 26 mai 2010 : 00:37:27
i used the webupdater and updated almost everything.except some languages
it worked perfectly for one day and then died.i suppose it was 3.90
no she didnt connect it with the pc.

when i install the 2.50 by pouch it accepts it but makes no difference at all at the device.
it still says 3.90

i never saw it in my computer.it doesnt recognize it as a drive.
in device manager it appears only as "garmin usb gps"

also i tried to update with a sd card,i made a garmin folder and inside i put the gupdate.cgd and it started updating but stuck at 3% and screen froze saying "software loading"
WknThDg Posted - 26 mai 2010 : 00:12:12
When you say that you updated it before you gave it to her, what did you update?
Was it the firmware, and if so, what firmware version did you use?
Your G7ToWin pic shows v3.90. Even though you got the Updater error when you attempted to flash using the 7x5us390.rgn, it may have still caused G7ToWin to show v3.90.

Might she have connected it to a PC, changed or deleted any maps or files, tried to update anything via Garmin.com or WebUpdater?

When you load the "Nuvi_7x5_cure_firmware_set_by_PouchX" firmware, does G7ToWin show the below?:

Nuvi 7x5 Software Version 2.50 ID: 870
Unit ID: 3522760868; USB Comm via Bulk Pipe

After loading the "Nuvi_7x5_cure_firmware_set_by_PouchX" firmware, is the unit then shown in Windows "My Computer" under "Devices with Removable Storage".
If not, disconnect it from the PC.
Let it try to boot-up.
If the "System Software missing" shows again, turn it off and then try reconnecting it to the PC again to see if it is then shown in Windows "My Computer" under "Devices with Removable Storage".
kostis007 Posted - 25 mai 2010 : 19:36:28
the gps isnt mine i bought it for a friend,i updated it and gave it to her
the next day she called me and informed me about the error.
she doesnt know if she did anything that could have caused this error.

the only firmware i could load was this "Nuvi_7x5_cure_firmware_set_by_PouchX"
it can be loaded with success, but it doesnt make any difference.

can i use an sd card to load a firmware?
WknThDg Posted - 25 mai 2010 : 19:11:13
G7ToWin confirms that the nuvi 7x5 US v3.90 firmware is already installed.
Therefore, trying to load the "765US390.rgn" that I uploaded (if you could) would not change anything.

When you updated the firmware with the webupdater one month ago, did it work correctly after that?
Again... Do you know what caused the System Software missing problem?
Did you do anything to the nuvi just before the "System Software missing" message started happening, and if so what?

Most likley, the only option that you have now is to contact Garmin Support.
OR
Wait until the next nuvi 7x5 US firmware version is released and if someone can make a .rgn file of the next version, you could try to flash that.
