looking for a portable GPS ofr the car. Dont like being locked into just one software so i thought about buying a cheap android tablet such as this one that i can install different GPS software on. What are your thoughts on this unit? i need speedy calculations and recalculations, and accuracy is always a plus. I plan on using it for GPS alone.

yeah the 5" size was a bit worrying to me.

Have any suggestions for an android device that i can use as a GPS without internet, and still have good accuracy? 4.3 is ok but i would prefere the 4.3 GPS size vs 4.3 phone size which tends to be slim and tall.

I didn't look too closely at it but android 2.2 is a couple of generations behind now. I did however notice a disclaimer on the page: Wholesale-Star provides no warranty or customer support regarding GPS software.

The latest software may no longer run on it. The problem with buying cheap is that it's cheap quality. Also with the oddball 5" size you may find not all apps work on it, even with a name brand 7" tablet some apps won't run.
