Hi @All,
please help to grow this database of original (i.e. pre-unlocked state) [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\init] entries.
Why?
In this forum we often read something like "Device bricked", "Won't start anymore after unlocking" etc. pp. In case of devices that have a hive-based registry, i.e. that don't allow a hard-reset to get them restored to factory defaults, victims of a failed unlock probably would be glad to know of what the original (pre-unlocked state)HKLM\init registry entries were.
Note:
If device has a hive-based registry, which means, all changes made with the "Unlock" (e.g. MioPocket) installation or other program settings are retained even after switching off / on and retained after a reset of the PNA/GPS. If one has not previously changed device's USB-mode to serial-class, it is as yet no way to advertise this to undo! With other words, the PNA/GPS got unrecoverably bricked.
How to unbrick?
If device's USB-mode previously was changed to serial-class, and you have fixed elsewhere the original (pre-unlocked state) of the HKLM\init registry entries, or could find them here, then
a) download CeRegReditor, if not done yet
b) USB-connect your device with the desktop PC
c) edit the device's registry, i.e. re-write the faulty keys/values
d) reset the device
and you are probably done.
