Posted - 07 mars 2012 : 02:53:03 Hello all, pardon me if this is not the right forum for this or if this has been addressed before. The scenario is - when I insert a SD card with say, some POIs onto the Nuvi760, the set will ask if I want to copy the POIs onto the set such that the POIs will still be available for use even if the SD card is removed. My question is where are these POIs copied to and can the same be deleted?
Many thanks. |

Posted - 26 août 2011 : 07:57:26 Dan. I'm too ugly to use mirror. Garmin has same problem I guess
I met some idea. Maybe Garmin is preparing new extension for devices: filename.poi If it's right they've started wrong way cause now nuvi series isn't ready for it. Let me think it is typical bug as ... latest Garmin standards. |

As for where are the beta testers, do you happen to have a mirror handy [grin]?

Posted - 25 août 2011 : 14:13:44 I'm sorry to tell ... Garmin behaves like novice. From some time (maybe one/two years) I have a mistrust of their applications (see also Garmin Lifetime Updater problems). Where are beta-testers, where is Garmin's QC ? Mom, where am I ?
Beetl(e)dit: BTW I can't believe so extension: .poi will be available for Garmin devices in the future. For now, mentioned file isn't visible for them.
If you (GpsPasSion) decide it isn't constructive critique feel free to delete my post. |

Posted - 25 août 2011 : 13:04:29 Indeed, strange error and there are going to be a lot of confused customers calling with the "where are my POIs" question! |

Posted - 25 août 2011 : 08:56:30 Anyway we can expect newer release cause 2.7.0 has probable bug with filename if you are sending data to "Garmin Device". Filename got extension .poi
Correct filename is folder_name.gpi as everybody (except Garmin engineers) knows. Sending data to "Computer" (using ver. 2.7.0) is correct. |
