Posted - 28 sept. 2011 : 16:13:31 ANTENNA, ANTENNA. My Lowrance 500C just started acting up. The unit usually starts finding the satellites right away and will work for a short while then for some reason loses them. Sometimes I can turn the GPS off, restart it and get the satellites back, then after a while it loses them again. IS IT MY ANTENNA?? I use this GPS In my motorhome and I sure like it and would like to keep it. I purchased it new in 2004 and haven't caused any problems till now. I have over 50,000 miles on it as of now. Thanks for any replies. Ed

Posted - 28 sept. 2011 : 23:06:31 Common problem is the connector between the GPS receiver module inside the top of the rear case and the mother board. Take it apart and look for loose or unsoldered wires at either end of the cable. I ended up replacing my cable with pards from an old laser printer. Of course that GPS is long gone now...
