I've listed here mapping software, i.e. software that doesn't calculate
routes and directions like road/street navigation software:
This type of software is generally cheaper and more of an "engine" and
generally does not come with maps that you have to make yourself or purchase
separately.
This will give you access to Topo maps for instance but it's generally not a
once stop shop.
