@ronbo85: Can you please email me (ai4spam@gmail.com) the flash of your Magellan 4370? I left mine unplugged for a while and now it boots up but gets a garbled screen. I want to format the NAND flash using the hidden menu, but I'd like to have the backup to restore from before trying that.
Thanks, -ai4spam
EDIT: Looks like it's thoroughly bricked: it started with an error in Windows, when chkdsk said a file was corrupt on the drive, but the GPS would reset when trying to overwrite it, and now it just gets a garbled screen about 10 seconds after booting, whether it boots into the Magellan logo or the hidden menu. I went ahead and formatted the NAND flash, and now I get... nothing. Anyone ever de-bricked a 4370 from this, or is it beyond repair? Oh, and the battery is dead as well (won't charge). |

Dan, I have the same Magellan and I am trying to find out what to do. I was able to back up all the old SW on a flash drive but when i try to load the SW it keeps coming back as "failed" I also tried to do that changing FileManCE changing to FilemanCE.exe but that didnt recognize it. Did you get any luck ?
Thanks,
Bob

Hi, I have a 4370 that froze up and will now only get to the clock icon (timer). It moves about a quarter revolution and then freezes. I tried the procedure above and it did not help unfreeze this unit. Any ideas of what else I might try. I was thinking if I could get the bootloader code and OS on an SD card, I could get to the screen to “OS Update”, or “Bootloader Update” or “Load OS from SD Card”. Any ideas of where I get the OS Code or the Bootloader code to try this?
Thanks, Dan
