Hi hpatlik
Thanks for all your work on the site
I saw a RLC or at least an enclosure that I didn't get an alert for in Winnipeg

thank you Hpatlik,
Vancouver claims to install more Red light locations. I already see more. I assume other cities would do same. Thank you for your hard work. Hope to see more updated soon. |

Hi new to the forum...great work here people
Have had a problem w/ my Garman 265 wt...i originally uploaded using the POILoader as well started to edit and upload via MapSource(added a few sites). Thats when it crashed. The GPS unit just kept on cycling thru the splash screen when turned on. Previously i noticed that the speed camera GPX was loading into the GPX folder into the "current.gpi" file (actually the file was over 2mb which kind of concerned me?) and then the red light cams went into the POI folder being loaded into the poi.gpi file. Is this right?
The speed cam data points were coming up in the "Favorites" when the GPS is operating? I was getting a message that I couldn't add any more Favorites as it was to capacity?
Anyways sorry if I've gone alittle off topic. At this point I'm thinking of just taking the 265 WT back as its still on warranty as that may be the problem or...just me...not sure at this point |

Under normal circumstances if you loaded the speed camera and red light camera POI files at the same time using POIloader you should only have one file, poi.gpi. If you loaded these 2 files at separate times using POIloader then only the last file you loaded would be available on the Nuvi as each time a poi.gpi file is created by POIloader it overwrites the old one.
How you got the speed camera gpx file loaded in current.gpx I wouldn't have any idea but having all those speed camera locations stored as favorites is definitely what is causing the message about Favorites being at the max. |

Was able to return the garmin 265 Wt and replace with the same unit (costco has a great return policy as I had pruchased in Aug).
So that I don't screw-up this next time using POILoader I browse to the folder where the red light cam and speed trap files are. When the upload begins it will load both the red light and speed cam into the POI folder on the GPS unit into the same file poi.gpi....correct?
Then if I wanted to edit the file could I not use MapSource to edit the gpx files on my computer and then again browse to the folder using POILoader and again upload to the GPS unit...what option do I choose in POILoader...sorry guys just learning at this point but appreciate any advice. Thank you |

You would start with 2 gpx files, one for the red light cameras and one for the speed traps. When you run POIloader you tell that program where your 2 gpx files are stored (need to be in the same folder), pick the Nuvi drive as your installation destination and then pick "manual" installation. This allow you to review the distance/speed settings prior to the the alert being triggered and alter it if you wish. POIloader will transfer the contents of the 2 gpx files to the Nuvi and install them as a single file in the GPX folder with a file name of poi.goi. Once installed there you will find all the traps and camera positions stored by looking in Where To - Extras - Custom POIs.
If you wanted to edit the file your best to load either the speed trap or red light camera gpx file into Mapsource. Then do your editing and save the edited file back to your computer(using Save As). Then run POIloader again, this time picking the 2 edited files. Again, POIloader will create a single poi.gpi file and transfer it to the GPX folder on the Nuvi. This new file will overwrite any existing poi.gpx file that was already on the device.
You would choose the same options in POIloader the second time around as you did the first time. Point to the folder that contains your 2 edited gpx files, tell POIloader to load them to your Nuvi, and use the manual install option to allow you to review and alter distance/speed. You can also use 'express' install but this does not allow for the review and alteration of the distance/speed. |

Sorry hpatlik...

is NOT a red light camera location. There is one more I saw on Weber St in Kitchener that isn't in the list, but I forget the cross street... next time I'm in the area I'll write it down.
