I recently purchased the WBT-200 receiver and am overall very happy with it, however there do seem to be a few issues I'm having with the software.
1) The compass training doesn't work for me. I turn on learning, spin the gps receiver around a few times as directed and click done. Nothing happens. The heading doesn't seem to update on any regular basis.
2) I haven't gotten the integration with Google Earth to work. There is a box that's supposed to contain a list of the current tracks saved on the receiver, however this text box never contains anything for me.
3) The altitude especially, and the accuracy in general seem to be less than optimal. If the receiver is stationary, it seems to "wander" as much as 5 meters or so. This might just be a fact of life with this receiver but I'm just wondering if others have seen this. The updated autologging features in the latest firmware/software are pretty much useless for me because of this. It's supposed to only log when there's a change in heading or speed, but both of these seem to vary widely when the unit is stationary.
I have tried various versions of the firmware and software and have the latest installed now 6090 R4, but they all seem to exhibit the same problems.
Like I said, overall I'm pretty happy with this nifty little device, but it would be even better if I could get it to work the way it's meant to.

Welcome but you should probably catch up with the specific thread about the WBT-100/200 in the main forums. As far as I know there is no compass on the 200 so that screen won't do anything. As for 5 meter variations when stationary this is quite normal especially if you are indoors for instance.

I have searched a bit and am not finding much in the way of reviews for the INVIEW N-911...
Basically I am looking for a pda w/ built in GPS that I can run IGUIDANCE V3 on... I am running a Dell Axim x30 w/ the Holux GR236 receiver and Iguidance and have been pleased... the second PDA will be mainly for my bike... where it's hard to mount the pda and receiver...
Anyway... The Semons price on the Inview cannot be overlooked... I am concerned on the performance difference between Sirf II and Sirf III though... will I see a noticable difference from my Holux Sirf III??
If there is a thread that answers this question I appologize I didn't find it first...
Thanks in advance for your thoughts / time...

Compared to SiRF II chipset, SiRF III mainly has faster TTFF and better sensitivty. If you are mainly use the InView N-911 outdoors with good view of the sky, the sensitivty shouldn't be a concern. SiRF III on average acquires fix 10 - 15 sec. faster on a cold start. However, if you use the InView N-911 on daily basis, then the hot fix time won't be difference from SiRF III.
Compared N-911 to SiRF III, you will likely notice difference in
1) When you use the unit first time, InView N-911 will take longer to get a fix.
2) If you travel to places like downtown NY with lots of tall buildings, then there is a chance InView N-911 will not get a signal while Holux 236 will. |

Thank you for the reply! It seems like I won't have too many issues... I'm not a fanatic who can't wait a couple of seconds... and I rarely travel to the city...
Thank you again... I will most likely order later today...
