| HTC Advantage 7501 on windows mobile. It's got a 624MHz cpu and enough RAM. I usually run mobile XT without any other apps running. Thanks. |

| Using Mobile XT on my Zinc II I don't see any significant lag at all. Runs the same as any other GPS app that I've tried - iGuidance, OCN8. |

I have XT 5.20 running on Dell 50V with Windows Mobile 6.0 and bluetooth GPS...no problem. Another Dell 50 with WM5.0 and CF GPS...no problem either.
I would change to another GPS to test it out. |

I am looking at possibly getting a Pharos GPS Phone 600, but I am having difficulty verifying that it is compatible with Garmin Mobile XT. I contacted Pharos and they advised: "We would not be able to verify if the Garmin software is compatible with our devices. If you want to use the software with the GPS Phone 600, the software will have to be compatible with a baud rate of 57600 and NMEA-0183 compliant. Please advise. Thank you."
I think that Garmin Mobile XT is NMEA-0183 compliant, but I don't know if it is compatible with a baud rate of 57600. The other thing is I am told that the Pharos GPS Phone 600 is actually a re-branded E-TEN Glofiish X500. The E-TEN Glofiish X500 is listed as being compatible.
I did contact Garmin this afternoon and they said that 9 out of 10 times if the phone is NMEA-0183 compliant. Does anybody here know how I can verify that the Pharos will be compatible with the baud rate of 57600?

| You might also look into the MWg Zinc II, which might be a bit cheaper. Mobile XT runs just fine on my unit and it has no problem "dialing out" on AT&T for Google searches. |

| Does anyone know why when I lose a gps signal the software automatically switches the time to 7;00 pm including the tim e on my phone. When i reestablish a connection it then corrects the time. |

IO am still researching what smartphone to get to work with Garmin Mobile XT. I am now thinking that I ought to get one with a sensitive GPS chip like the SiRF III. I am having trouble determining which of these actually has a SiRF chip, however. Does anybody here happen to know which of the following has SiRF or know of the best way I can find that out?

I have OCN 8 and garmin mobile xt. When going off the calculated route, there is a huge difference in the speed of calculating a new route. OCN 8 is lightening fast to realize you have gone off course and computes a new route. By comparison, mobile XT almost takes forever to figure out you're off course and then takes its time to calculate a new route.
Anybody else have the same experience? |

| I tested 5.00.20wp, 4.10.50TW and 5.00.00tw on Samsung i900. The Taiwai version 4.10.50tw when I turn to off route, It will completed the recalculation within 60m With the same Garmin Sg/Mal 3.01 map. The V5 on Taiwan and US version were very slow on recalculation. I changed back to 4.10.50tw. |
