Buy it expecting NOT to get the upgrade, because unless you've heard them talking about the maps being TESTED, it probably isn't going to be out in the next 30 days.....
I haven't read all the threads, but Lamar had consistently said he wouldn't predict when the next maps are coming until just recently when he said by the end of the year.
Nothing is 100% so I do agree that you should purchase maps only if you are happy with the trial versions, not because you are timing it to qualify for a subsidized upgrade.

Jeeze, the silence here is deafening!
It's almost the end of the year and nothing newsworthy has been posted in quite some time regarding maps or software revisions. |

"Can you hear me now?" :-)
Well, folks, we are working on a couple of big projects that will REQUIRE new maps. I'm not talking about THEM either, am I?

| It doesn't matter, your subscription won't get you the new maps anyways, even if you had 6 months left..... |

18 days to go, I'm guessing there's no new maps this year (not that I expected there to be). Now the big question is, will the new Maps be based on Q3 2006 like the last we heard, or Q4 since your talking the maps aren't ready yet. That's what inquiring minds REALLY want to know =]

Hi, guys,
Still don't know, but with any luck at all, somebody might be showing a new device with maps powered (and provided) by Mapopolis at CES. It's getting down to crunch time with that.
It isn't a subscription! And if you have six months left, you'll definitely get a credit based on your time remaining. If your Map Pack is expired, you'll get a courtesy discount as a returning customer.

Hi, Tony,
If anything shows, it will be using our conventional maps, as far as I know. I think the Map Packs will continue for another year or two, but we still will probably switch to regional maps for all platforms.

| Well, regarding the Region maps, I know they said part of the water problems are going through individual maps, so this may make that problem easier. Not to mention, County Maps have always been a pain for me, I'd much prefer state or region maps myself..... |
