May I suggest that POIs are submitted in decimal degrees
ie HDDD.ddddd or +/-DDD.ddddd using standard nomenclature.
I think it's easier to edit.
James: .rar is a compressed format (like zip, but not the same)
Again, for the sake of standardising, it would be better if all files were .zip (which windows has native support for). But since you asked, use WinRar at http://www.rarlab.com/

It looks like your format is DD MM SS; however, N DD MM 850 is incorrect nomenclature since you cannot exceed 60 seconds. Do you mean N 38 54.850 W 077 05.549? This would be DD MM.MMM Please clarify.
I'll have to look at the unit and check. I just hit 'add here as favorite' and then typed it when I got home. I *guess* it's minutes and then decimal minutes, but I will check when I get home what it put in. |

The poi ' s are similar to the ones in lat-long.com and topografix . It's public info and available freely ,So there shouldn't be any restriction . All the Uk and European sites have poi databases . US should catch up.

Yes, James .rar is a compressed file format , slightly better than winzip .Winrar can open both zip And rar files. , |

I'm currently working on a circuit city list - the best buy site was more difficult to work with. When I get done with this list, I'll go back to the best buy site and try another way. |

To my fellow Hosers, we need someone to put in the red light cameras and speed cameras for Calgary. I am moving there in June and I don't want to go into debt paying the fines. Go Canada Go.

| A great POI databaase for me would be of all the biodiesel retailers around the nation. The addresses of a lot of theses can be found at www.biodiesel.org. I will start working on this if I can figure it out. |

I'm getting the list through a program that goes to the site enters a zip code, then extracts all the stores it finds, then goes on to the next zip code - WAY slower than circuit city's site, but i should eventually get there... |
