Does anyone have a working roadmate 1440 ? I would really appreciate if I can get a dump of the whole magellan drive. My Roadmate 1440 had the stock 1.07 and the stock map 2008 ?. I upgraded the firmware to 2.22 and then to 4.8x everything was still working. However I got a 2011 V43 map from someone and after installing it my roadmate 1440 is now stuck at the magellan logo screen with the circle spinning endlessly (waited for 40 minutes). I retried installing 2.22 firmware manually and installing 4.8x again just to see if it would fix the problem but my 1440 is now stuck at the startup screen. I think I might have ruined my gps. I am hoping that maybe I can just copy the files from a working 1440 to mine to make it work again. USB connection is still working so I can copy files over to my GPS. MioPocket on SD is also working, tried setup magellan app on Mio (pointed it to navigator.exe) but it just briefly tries to load it and then give up and goes back to miopocket main menu. |

| I have a working 1440, the files are 1.6 gig. I could put them in my google drive and I think you can get them from there. you can email me at radmacks@hotmail.com so we can figure out how to move the files. |

| Hi, I emailed you. That would be awesome if I can get a backup of your roadmate 1440. Hopefully your files will fix my gps. |

| I see that Magellan uses roadmate 1700 and the 1440 when you look for updates using the update program by Magellen... I have the same issue looking for a complete set of files to restore my roadmate 1700 GPS. Do you know if the software is the same and if so if I could get the files from you as well. thanks frankdmayo @ yahoo |

| For the last 2 nights i've been trying to get my roadmate 1440 to work again by replacing files using Radmacks' backup. I started by replacing the map files and then the app files and slowly testing by replacing files and restarting etc, I could not make it to work its still stuck at the magellan splash screen with the circle thing spinning. I think I can safely assume that my gps is dead now. Oh well at least I can still use it for games using mio pocket. Special thanks to Radmack for his backup files. |

[ed]First you guys need to understand that the iboot.exe in the MicroSD runs before any program in the GPS unit. So it's a perfect recover tool. You can run the Autorun.exe from Mortscript with the name iboot.exe and run any recover programs you want.
Say if you have purchased a program called Recover.exe, which can help you to recover your unit. You put it in the SD under folder "help". So in your iboot.mscr, you type in:
Run("\SDMMC\help\Recover.exe")
With that, you can use that recover program to fix your GPS, even your files inside your Magellan are totally messed up. |

philpw99, not sure I follow, I dont think I have mortscript, what is that for and where can I get it ? is that a part of the primo 2 from NavNGo you recommended ? the link you posted above is not working, its actually pointing to here instead of to the details on "how to do it". |

emmanuell, it's not right to run Primo in a Magellan GPS. What you should do is either find a program to help you recover the unit, or put your backup copy of Magellan Roadmate in your MicroSD card, and run it from the SD card. The mortscript can help you do that.
You never google "Mortscript"? You just need 3 files: Autorun.exe, Autorun.mscr and Mortscript.exe on the root of the SD card.
And I believe my guide here might help, too.

Hate to bring back a dead thread but I have the spinning icon as well. And I cannot boot MioPocket anymore. I am using the same one I had been using.
philpw99 I see you say iBoot runs first but I cannot get that to happen. Just spins. Also, I have tried to make another copy of MioPocket and I cannot get that to boot either. I think the flash drive in the unit is going bad and would like to just run off the SDCARD if possible until I find me a new GPS.
Any suggestions? |
