| On the map page with the route/trip loaded, press the green bar on the top of the screen. On the list of turns screen press the 3bar icon in the upper left corner and then select Show Map. |

I bought a new 3490lmt the day they came out but it had a lot of problems and I returned it to Garmin and went back to my 3790t. The touch screen on the 3790T got some dead points so I decided to try the 3490LMT again and it is much improved and I am quite happy with it. It still does not have the clarity in the map pages that the 3790T had but every thing else is working great. Again thanks for all your help over the past years. |

| Traffic question, I just drove thru the city of Atlanta with the 3490lmt, It never displayed the traffic icon when receiving a signal like the 3790T. Do I have to use a traffic map button to see the traffic icon and the traffic condition or if there is a traffic problem will it appear on the map page. Thanks |

| I found the answer in the manual. The icon should appear if it is receiving a traffic signal, mine did not. I have sent an email to support. Thanks |

| hello, I own 3790 flashed to 3490 - everything is working great, but I want to know if someone have the pinouts for the nuvi connector to windshield holder - I want to use the nuvi as stereo and play MP3 files on my car speakers - is there a way to do this - thanks ! |

| This unit sounds nice, but traffic sound horrible from this thread. I have been think if replacing my 755 in my wife's car. I was leaning to the Nuvi 1695 (I have a 1690), but this unit sound great, if traffic and the Smartphone app work. I love the connected services. |

| I don't know about traffic there, but here in Montreal Quebec...traffic works very well on the 3490 LMT and 3590 LMT as well. It's accurate and reports as it should, but we don't have HD here yet... |

| I've used the 3590LMT in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Chicago, Des Moines, and on many interstates between cities and in many smaller towns. Traffic, using Smartphone Link, is very mixed. In LA, the interstate flow and incident reporting I found to be very good. In Las Vegas there was a major freeway construction project that included closed ramps from one interstate to another and I was routed right through it (impossible of course). In Chicago, on two occasions when I was over 2 hours outside the city on I-88, the Garmin reported a >120 delay on I-88. I photographed it with my phone as I drove the open road, with literally no other cars in the photo, from inside the supposed delayed section. In Des Moines the service constantly lists a delay on two ramps from an interstate to a highway that is absolutely bogus. I've photographed it also and sent it to every Navteq email address that I can find. Two months later, the delay is still listed every single day. Traffic is hit and miss with this unit, at best. |

| Yes, I would say without a doubt the issue is with the traffic content from the traffic provider which is I understand is Navteq. |
