@TeXniKK
Thanks alot.
The point is that although 2450 is able to generate and to handle 8bit ECC, spare area you sent has 4bit ECC: 16 bytes/page, 2 x 16 bytes for spare area, followed by 20 byte control pattern (repeated all over). Meantime I got a Moov330 dump (2443 CPU, k9gag08 nand) and the last 20 bytes were all FF...

Well, maybe I should try to flash "Moov330 dump (2443 CPU, k9gag08 nand)"... And as I see, I have 2443 CPU installed in my GPS..

flauca,

I am a newcomer to the forum and can only provide some newbie input on the error
Waiting!!
buf[510]=0,buf[511]=0

I have been trying to recover a Moov 300 NA and I received this error for quite awhile. I was using an 8gb sd card and thought it may have been a bad card, so I then tried using a 2gb card and the error went away and I was able to load a new firmware. The 8gb card is not bad because I have used it for copying data over to the moov 300, so I associate the error to using an SD card with too much memory. Hope this helps.

For my own needs, I am still trying to find a good firmware image for a Moov 300 North Aemrica if anyone has one. I have loaded several suggested versions, but none seem to be exactly right for my Moov 300 NA. I apologize if one has been posted that I missed, but I have read all of the posts and have not seen a North American version.

flauca,
use 3=Base CE Upgrade ... id you are in Europe use Moov560_EU_ROM_T550R2.V1.00.0003 firmware (don't use SDHC to upgrade the flash ... is not supported by UPGRADE SCREEN).

powerslide,
Now comes the hard part ... I have to modify the firmware and add fileManCE inside ROM and in start-up ... give me couple days.

r0lltide,
Find one Moov 300 NA and download the SMFlash -> after that i will extract the firmware.

I have been working on this all morning and have made an astounding discovery. After many hours of looking, and my stubbornness, it turns out the Moov300 I have is an AU not NA. I loaded the Moov300 AU firmware from Page 1 and it updated correctly. So I will not be needing a Moov300 NA image, thanks.

This is what I have, when the Blue Update Screens starts, the heading shows: Cobia 400R2_R04_0821 RAM64 MLC 1G

After applying the new image, the device boots with: 410r2.v1.00.0010

However, now I cannot stop the device from booting to Blue Screen when an SD card is installed. I insert my SD card with Cobia_400_64_AU folder and the UBootLockApp menu comes up but then I get a Fatal Application Errors for Auto.exe.
Exception: 0xC00000005 address: 01CE0FEC, exception:0xC00000005 address: 01CAB888, and others.

I did not have problems turning the Uboot app on and off until I loaded the Moov300 AU firmware update. I am using the same files and SD card.? Thoughts

@TeXniKK
There may be some changes in hjtag driver as at a certain point I had problems to unlock nand write protection, this one will work fine in any condition. Boot blocks are included too.

Good luck

powerslide,
check http://www.4shared.com/file/85VH0ho2/M200C30064_FEU_V1000018_modifi.html modified firmware ... the fileManCe should start-up automatically -> after that you can delete or modify (manually) the files from My flash Disk (use the SDCard slot to transfer data from PC to GPS) -> let me know if you see the fileManCE at start-up.

r0lltide,
strange that you get this error (this is MortScript interpreter ...)
1. Try to use a different SDCard (maybe that file is corrupted or card is malfunctioning)
2. Try to start manually (after you unlock some how your GPS) SDCard\UPGRADE\wo_coredll\UPGRADE_APP_.exe

flauca,
(probably) Is not your original firmware ... but you can try (until you find the original one ...)

G_alin,
Thanks for the tip, I re-executed the Zip file to another card and it ran fine. Strange but accurate. I now have a Mio Moov 300 AU with the correct firmware, however now I can't get MioMap2008 reinstalled because when I enter the product key I receive an error message in MipoMore Desktop 2008 that says "Failed to validate activiation key" or something like that. Mio support at its finest...

Thanks again

Hello g_alin,

First - sory for my english. It is mine SMFLASH.IMG - Moov200_EU (Cobia_300_32) (ROM_V1.00.0018). Can you create the needed .bin file? I update my ROM to Moov200_EU (Cobia_300_32) (ROM_V1.00.0019), but my old was better - more ram for software... http://rapidshare.com/files/442691657/Moov_200_Cobia_300_32_EEU_V1.00.0018.zip

Thanksw g_alin and r0lltide for the help. I got the GPS in the state where it is recognized by the computer.

The problem that i am ahving right now is that i can't reload the software on the mio. I installed several versions of miomore desktop and either it doesn't do anything when i select "Reinstall software on my Mio" or i get a message saying "The application upgrade was unsuccesful, please check". Any clue what is going on?

Also on some versions of MioMore desktop get an error about " 'Globe2, Version=1.0.3253.36835, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null ". I am trying this upgrade in windows 7.

Thanks.

g_alin,
thank you, working your last firmware. :-)
my questions are,
how to restore the original navman software?
how to enable usb support?
I noticed something strange in the Settings menu.
In 'Change connection menu', in the combo box the usb name is " 'USB " not simply " USB ".
Update:
USB work manually: if i start USBScreen.exe in Windows directory and put the usb cable in the gps, but it doesn't start automatic when the moov start.

Hi g_alin,

Reading through this thread, I saw that about a year ago you helped a member called khaos2002 to resolve his GPS issues.
Unfortunately you guys switched to a private discussion before the final solution was found and I was wondering if you could provide assistance.

I am experiencing the exact same issue khaos2002 was experiencing.
I have Mio moov 500 (European version) and right now when running it without an SD card, i just get a blank screen.
When putting the SD card in, it launches a blue screen with various upgrade options.

The firmware version specified in the top of the screen is "COBIAT550R2_R03_1212 RAM64 MLC 1G"

You help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ohad

r0lltide,
(If you want to use the original software) You need to use the firmware with original Region - that came from the factory.

jonatan82,
http://www.4shared.com/file/GtTfRwZJ/Moov_200_Cobia_300_32_EEU_V100.html

flauca,
I I not a specialist of the MioMore software but I think you have a Region corrupted of the wrong Region. Find one firmware with our Region and upgrade OS and Region (with Format) ... may work ... I don't know.

powerslide,
After you 'fix' your My Flash Disk configurations files ... You can use the previous firmware (the one that shows 'upgrade successful' ...). My modified firmware is only a 'evaluation / service' firmware. I don't know how you can fix the configuration files ... you'll have to figure that your self ... but for sure (if you do something wrong into your My flash disk ... and you are stuck in the orange screen ...) you can use the 'service firmware' to delete/change the configuration files.

ohadnaim,
You experience a corrupted flash ... try to upgrade using the right firmware and use the Format option. First try to upgrade only the OS ... if that doesn't help upgrade also the Region (in the same time with OS). (probably in should try one of the Moov500R2_EU versions)
