daniel1605, usually NO. The SMFlash contains all the information from that partition (some have the bootloader or some other information - like Region, .... ). But May I ask Why do you need the to convert winceimg.bin to SMFlash? Do you want to make a bootable SDCard? |

Hello to all GPS friends!
Could anyone here, especially Mr g_alin help me recovering my Mio Moov M300 by converting SMFlash to WinCEimg?
I had problem with no USB connection and already tried all tricks with discharging, etc. Nothing helped. I succeeded to put it into blue upgrade screen via pin 9 trick.
Here is link to SMFlash image from another identical device: http://www.4shared.com/file/lBRS8Rj6/Mio_Moov_M300_SMFlash.html
Thank you.
Regards, Zoran

czoran, I have some difficulties extracting the firmware. I was surprised by the fact that (apparently) are two wince OSs on that partition. I let you know when I have more time to dig out. |

g_alin Some quick notes on czoran's dump, may help you to solve the mistery. -1'st OS is placed in the reserved area of partition, 2'nd at partition start -in reserved area is no logo image, only the usb image (16bit color) -in 2'nd OS it is a logo but 32bit color !! -strangely in 2'nd OS here-and-there are several navi pictures, some of them mirrored(16bit color) |

ablbd, that bring another question: Why there are two? If there are two: How can we make it boot on the first OS. Is possible to have first OS as the bootloader (it would be a very nice good looking bootloader ...) I really doubt about that ... probably there is a "switch" somewhere ... Can someone post the bootloaer menu items ... maybe we figure out from there of something. Based on the HEADER side (the one used to write the image into flash) the second Os is the one written by bootloader. |

Thank you friends! Hopefully you will be able to do something and solve this mistery. Finally m300 will be defeated. There are lot of these here in Croatia. In the meantime I tried almost all available firmwares from this thread and no success. I am looking for Spirit firmware of 64MB but all I have are 128.

If you need anything else I will be glad to provide. Maybe compressed files from flash drive from donor (good) device?

czoran, try first this winceimg: http://www.4shared.com/file/jwOx-wHQ/winceimg_temp.html inside are winceimg and region .... try first only Base upgrade (winceimg files). If the Base upgrade doesn't work let me know ... The Region is extracted also ... but I am not sure is the right one ... If you want to play with it also and doesn't work let me know also ... I can give you some other options. But the Base upgrade should be enough for you to recover your GPS (if your GPS has the same Region with the one used to download the SMFlash.img). I don't need the files from flash ... from OS point of view, the GPS should work with or without them on flash.
Later Edit: (I may be wrong) but: how can you upgrade by SDCard if you don't have SDCard? (I checked on-line spec.: http://eu.mio.com/en_eu/moov-m300_more-from-mio.htm). Do I miss something?
Later Edit_2: can someone confirm that: Internal RAM memory = 128MB Are you sure is not 64 MB!?
