| DNW seems familiar, is that the app from UBOOT update package? I'm not sure. I had to assemble the device back, and empty my workspace, so i can't access the blue menu right now, but i will do that tomorrow, and post. Thanks a lot. |

navi-gps You now have run into the situation I always talked about, that transfering a full nand copy (on jtag or programmer) from one device to another is NOT a solution; sometimes works but more often not. It's because of bad blocks. There are 2 options: 1. Replace nand with a new, virgin one. Copy on the programmer to the new nand only first 1MB then solder it on defective device; will go into blue screen. 2. More difficult and risky: solder on the defective device an "unlocked" nand (which goes into blue screen when SD is in at boot time) and get into blue screen. Leave the defective device POWERED, desolder nand and resolder it's original nand, then reflash OS.
LE: There is a 3'rd option: unsolder nand, solder it on a device with intact jtag connections, unlock it (block with "LOCKEDUT" can be higher, ie block17, block18, s.o.) then put it back.
NOTE: If boot blocks were once reflashed followed by os upgrade with format, the physical position of block containing LOCKEDUT sting can be anywhere on nand... Block16 as physical position is valid ONLY if nand is in factory state! |

ozgur, You have the 'older' Moov format ... Moov300_AU is newer format. Can you find out an identical device to download the SMFlash.img? Alternatively you can try to upgrade with Moov330 version (Moov_330_Cobia_410_EEU_V1.00.0000) -> you should be aware that some of the function may not work properly. You can try the option: 5=Other Tools >>6=Download & Run (this way you are not going to loose your original firmware ...) |

Well, i made the mistake to overwrite a modified image, which launches an explorer window at startup, i can now see the files in the flash and "Storage Card" on the device, but i can not move or copy files from Flash to SD for some reason. So i think my original firmware on my device is gone right? But what i do not understand is, if the bootloader and OS, and the application files like miomap, and the XCSoar that i installed are on the flash, how come my files are still there, when i flashed a different image? I put the image in the SD and choose WINCE Upgrade from SD, and it read the image and wrote it.
I suppose i might get one of the same from the same store, download the flash and return in for a refund next day, but, is it possible to download the flash without disassembling the device?
i appreciate all the info you're giving.

I kept on playing with it. First i tried the Moov330 version. UPgrade went smoothly, and system was working fine, except of course it was still launching my app XCSoar, and of course no USB connection. So i went back to the modified image to get file explorer on start. With the file explorer, i launched the USBConnect.exe (or something) in the windows directory, and got the USB connection as mass storage. I finally edited the paths.xml to run AppStartup.exe thing in MioMap folder, then i upgraded with the Moov330 version. Only its too late. I guess my original MioMap application did not appreciate all this. On startup, mio map 2008 loading screen appears. Progress bar loads to the end and stops before the last 3 squares. After a while it does this again, until it cold starts the device and goes to the same cycle.
This is a neat solution if you don't have the USB connection anymore, and have your original firmware somewhere. You can flash the modified one with the explorer, run the usb connection, edit your files, then go back to your original firmware.

| ozgur, original registry (located in rom) is containing data for miomap (region, licence, so). In case you flashed another rom, navi will not work. Use some unlock; to set screen brightness launch from script 2-3 secconds the original MioMap then kill it. |

ozgur. sorry ..just tooday i shaw your post. you say that ''Progress bar loads to the end and stops before the last 3 squares. After a while it does this again,'' this is because you have not the map in the folder miomap or the map is not the right one. take the map from your cd and put it in the folder |

| Hi everybody! First of all, sorry for my english, but I use it rarely. My problem is, that I have a Moov M400, and I lost my PC connection. I searched for a solution, and I found the "pin number nine" way, so I have the blue "upgrade screen". But now, I can't upload the wince image via USB. I have three version of dnw.exe but it didn't find my Moov device. I saw in this forum, that I must use a special USB driver, but I didn't find a useable one. Could you help me, to find the solution for my problem? |

Tuning, You have to modify the *.inf file to load the driver. The newer devices 'authenticate' them self with a ProductID/DeviceID that is not known by PC. Please check when you plug the GPS (in blue screen) to PC; the product ID and Device ID (control Panel \ System \ Device Manager \ USB devices -> Properties) |
