I got my 260 and 4gb SD card to work... stupid me didn't create the "Garmin" folder... but now have another question:

I put a GMAPSUPP.img & .unl on SD card and original (main memory) map AND the 2nd map shows up. However, when I put a 3rd map on... as GMAPSUP2 (with or without .unl)... it NEVER shows up. I've also swapped the SUPP and SUP2 maps... and, whatever map is SUP2 doesn't show up (in SETTINGS).

I've been searching around and saw several references to GMAPPROM, GMAPSUPP, GMAPSUP2, and GMAPBMAP... isn't GMAPSUP2 valid on a 260?

Thanks in advance,
Steve

gmapsup2.img is not supported on newer nuvis (it may once have been on the 3xx/6xx series but I have not verified one way or the other).

See my mapset naming guide sticky here:

SergZak...

Thanks once again for responding so quickly and with super-easy-to-understand answers.

Not only have you saved me more time (fiddling with sup2) but also saved me a few $$... I bought 2 4gb SD cards; now I can return and eBay 5-6 2gb SD cards!!

Your naming guide was GREAT help but my 260 (and my sister's 255w) has GMAPBMAP.SUM and GMAPPROM.SUM files. What are they?

Thanks, Steve
