Sygic GPS Navigation is available in the "Free" section of the Android Market, even though what you download is just a limited free trial. To keep & use the application, you have to go to the Sygic Android Store, and pay between 15€ and 80€ (depending on which maps you want).

If you can get past the misleading placement of a commercial app in the "Free" section of the Market, this seems to be a pretty nice GPS Navigation solution to run on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 (WiFi). In order to buy the USA maps for normal use, and UK & Ireland for a vacation next month, it looks like it would cost me 36€. I think that's reasonable, compared to ALK CoPilot Live Premium with both sets of maps.

I saw that there is a discussion here for Sygic GPS Navigation on the iPhone, and was wondering if anyone here is using it on Android?

Regards,
David Baldock

Well you could connect to a tethered smartphone as I do with my HD2 running Android but you'd have roaming problems abroad.

I've found Sygic to be a decent navigation solution with nice terrain rendering, it has two flaws though:
- simplistic route features, there are no alternate routes or no via points for instance
- ETA is a bit optimistic

Since I'm using the WiFi version of the Galaxy 7" Tablet (with No cellular radio), I need a Navigation application that contains all of the map data.

If Google Navigator requires an active data link, then it won't work while I'm driving with my Tablet.

Take Care,

It does seem like a nice app, but for me the free Google Navigator for Android is just fine. Not sure how well it works in Europe but it works great in the U.S.A..
