Product page on Xexun site : >> link <<

one oft most actual GPS-Trackers currently is the "TK102" from company XEXUN in China. This unit is offered at relatively low prices and by using a lot of different product names ( e.g. via EBAY ).
Inside is a GPS/GSM-Modul "MC55" or "MC56" from SIEMENS with using SIRF3 GPS-Receiver chips.
Simply the "TK102" can respond to polling calls, but it also can be configured for sending in certain time intervals or after moving. Besides this there also is a geo-fence mode and a way for listening to it's build in microphone. Reply messages can via SMS or GPRS.

I am just doing my first steps with "TK102" and up to now only did test it's SMS functions.
Polling so far did run without problems, but i found, there ONLY was a reply in case "TK102" did have an actual GPS-Fix. Nevertheless also invalid positions seem to be stored within it's memory, because when pushing the SOS-Button while there is no FIX, the Tracker is sending it with being marked as OLD messages ( signal:L ).
It would be interesting for me to hear about this behaviour and general experiences with "TK102" also from others.

Hello everyone,
I have developed a software to send "commands" to the tk-102. As kokos said, you cant send "at commands", but instead you send the commands like it was a SMS message.
Now you dont have to pay sms's to your cellphone company anymore to test your device :)

Here you go - Instructions how to use:

1. You must have a USB cable (that 2 cables, one short and one long cable).
2. Make sure your cable is correctly configured and instaled on a specific com port.
3. Connect your tk-102 device on the LONG usb cable.
4. Open the software, chose your com port.
5. Write up the command you want to send to the device on CONTENT column
6. Click with your mouse on the SELECT column, in the right side of the command you want to send (a "V" should appear)
7. Click Start Test.
8. Wait few moments and you will see on the log window some initialization commands and right after your command will be sent.
9. A answer for your command will appear on the log window and will be written on Result column as well.
10. Have fun :)

TK102 GPS Tracker Geofence Automatic Daily Setup Without Request ? (wihout having to send a sms everyday to set the alarm/alert)

Thank you for accepting me.

I am sorry if it is not the correct place to ask but I am new to GPS tracking and have bought a TK102 GPS tracker

I setup geofence and get SMS when the tracker moves.

But I have to send a SMS everyday to setup the alert because once the GPS tracker has moved (and when I get the alert) the alert system is diasbled until the next time I set it.

Do you know any device or how I could automatically set an alarm everyday, for example from 8am to 8pm ?

Once a day I would like to get an SMS if the GPS tracker has moved during that time. But I don't want to request this function as I might forget to send the SMS to request.

Thank you for your help.

I use the external connector (which is NOT a usb connector), the batteries I have come already with the connector for TK102 and TK102-2 trackers. I can leave also the internal battery inside, which will give the tracker a little bit more battery life.

I have also used previously other 3.7V batteries which did not come with the right connector for the tracker, so I had to solder their connector on the inside battery connectors. I also had to make a small hole on the tracker cover so the cable would go outside, and this of course made it unable to use the internal battery, since its connector was being used already.

That flashing LED looks like an "error" code, wonder if I didn't see a mention of it in the manual, did you look it up?

.... what commands do I send to the tracker? (preferably by SMS to set it up)

Please list all the commands in order - starting from begin123456

Does my server need to take any action at any time - other than just revieve all of the positition reports sent in time order from the tracker?

I discovered that this fu.... TK102-2 does not record ANY logs on the SD card. It's only a buffer.

How/from where you install your own tracking web server ?

What is the tool you used ?

Many thanks for any reply ...

"GPS NO" means it's not getting a GPS fix so based on your description (under the blue sky) it does sound like it's defective, hopefully you can send it back?

Just found this old link that is still working : TK-102 cable & connection
Using simple USB/TTL converter like these ones : ebay: USB TTL converter
krister Posted - 07 juil. 2013 : 19:17:32

Both connectors are the same, but the pin connections are not. One connector is used for flashing the firmware, the other one is used for reading data from the tracker (debuging).

It is propietary. You can not use a standard USB cable, the connector is not a mini USB.

I saw this video

It shows two cables. I think one is micro usb. Other is also a variation(though its not the common version)
