Posted - 01 nov. 2008 : 16:46:44 Model Navigon 5100 1.2
Thankfully I made a backup of my SDC. So I was able to try the 2 different methods to install:
1.Navigon Fresh 2.Using other OS and manually replacing files.
Both resulted in the TMC not getting updates. TMC would search and lock on a channel, however, traffic data would not show. Use backed up SDC info, and it would work again.
I've even tried to use my backups gpstmc.* (3 files) in the new MN6 folder and that didn't help either (any files I'm missing anyone?).
Anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions?
Thank you, Navi5100 |

Posted - 16 nov. 2008 : 19:00:41 Hi there,
I'm not sure if the european maps had the same problems but some GPS here have seen a Q4 map released and some others (like the 2110 max, 2150max, 7210...) didn't had a Q4 update for the moment...It's been a while that the situation is like that and we wondering what Navigon is doing with the Q4... |

Posted - 07 nov. 2008 : 23:37:50 Strange. I went straight to the Navigon.com site then to My Navigon then to Fresh Maps where it stated Not yet available. When I tried thru Navigon Fresh it would not recognize my unit any longer and said I needed to register even tho I have been sinve July. I will try again. Thx
Okay, my bad. The update for the 2100/2120 Max is not yet available but for others it seems to be. Unfortunately for me, I have the 2100Max

Sorry for not paying closer attention, I was just anxious to get the correct update.

Posted - 05 nov. 2008 : 07:05:11 They have pulled the map updates. I hope they reset the download counter. I have used four downloads to get one good map update. |

Please be sure the email address on your MyNavigon account is current, as will be sending updates via that communication channel.

I really don't care anymore. As of now, I have sold my 7100. Just hope they don't screw up my 7200T. |

Posted - 03 nov. 2008 : 13:22:19 For the 7100, the Q4_2008 Maps are about 5Meg less in size than the Q3_2008, while the the PR/USVA are about 50K larger. May be they threw the baby out with the bath water in order to save space?
RNJ: I think I read somewhere on the forum that the 7200 uses the same map data that was released in the Q4_2008 maps.
Update: While 7100 and 7200 use the same Navteq data, the 7200 seems to be missing some POIs |

Posted - 03 nov. 2008 : 08:42:06 Awesome find XB! On my 5100 I set my map to Puerto Rico\US Virgin Islands, and the updates started coming in.

I am positive that the issue is in North American map file. Once I chose Puerto Rico, the traffic reports started to populate. Alaska and Hawaii do not work, however, there might not be traffic service there at all.

Posted - 03 nov. 2008 : 03:31:00 It seems to me that Navigon cannot pull their crap together on the software. Every time they improve one thing, they ruin few others. If they fix the Traffic in 2009 update, don't they owe us one more? I am also scared to to do any updates to my 7200T since no saying what damage they could do to it. I happen to like that GPS and it seems to be a keeper for a while.
I can't believe that not too many people are complaining about Q4 update. Have everyone switched to 7200 overnight? |

Posted - 03 nov. 2008 : 03:00:55 The issue with TMC seems to be with MN6 and Q8_2004 update. The issue with missing POIs seem to be with MN7 and Q8_2004 update (seems there are some missing POIs in the 7200T running MN7 (Take a look at 7200 Thread)
