Product page on Xexun site : >> link <<

one oft most actual GPS-Trackers currently is the "TK102" from company XEXUN in China. This unit is offered at relatively low prices and by using a lot of different product names ( e.g. via EBAY ).
Inside is a GPS/GSM-Modul "MC55" or "MC56" from SIEMENS with using SIRF3 GPS-Receiver chips.
Simply the "TK102" can respond to polling calls, but it also can be configured for sending in certain time intervals or after moving. Besides this there also is a geo-fence mode and a way for listening to it's build in microphone. Reply messages can via SMS or GPRS.

I am just doing my first steps with "TK102" and up to now only did test it's SMS functions.
Polling so far did run without problems, but i found, there ONLY was a reply in case "TK102" did have an actual GPS-Fix. Nevertheless also invalid positions seem to be stored within it's memory, because when pushing the SOS-Button while there is no FIX, the Tracker is sending it with being marked as OLD messages ( signal:L ).
It would be interesting for me to hear about this behaviour and general experiences with "TK102" also from others.

On the Coban, you can send commands through the return path. You cannot connect to the unit as you don't know its IP (and however it does not listen to incoming socket). But when the unit connects to the server, you send send commands back to it through the socket. See for example how in my sample gateway I send LOAD and ON commands back to the tracker.
The same method can be used to transfer commands to the tracker. At least this works with a Coban. I don't know the GPRS commands for the Xexun.

Purchased the TK102B from China. Followed all the instructions and the Lat/Long doesn't change when the car is moving. It shows zeros even the date and time is zero. Set up the time zone and still nothing. What do I do to get if fixed and may be this GPS is a clone.

Maybe have you registrer the same admin number several times ?
You should check that. Open the file user_config.txt to do that.

Yet it's normal to receive multiple sms as we can read it in the user manual (for Coban GPS102B) : "In case of such a movement (the default distance is 200m), it will send SMS “Move+ latitude & longitude” to the authorized numbers at 3 minutes interval."

Edit : I tried to send you the weblink by mail to my seller but I get this message from gpspassion : "Due to abuse this feature has been restricted, please use the forums for your questions and answers, thanks"

Please tell me, i am very interested if you really get only 1 sms when car moves.

With the TK102 it seems normal to get 1 sms everytime the car stops, i checked everywhere.

XT011 is a recent tracker with this function :
Track by time Interval (5 secondes) , Track by distance Interval.
Movement alarm.
Shake alarm.
Overspeed alarm.
SOS alarm.
Low battery alarm.
Cut off the oil and circuit over the air.
Upgrade software over the air.
History trace ,GEO-FENCE.
There is an other function I like : if the tracker is removed from the battery of the vehicule you receive an alarm
+ ACC alarm --> very useful

With Xexun, the platform tracking is free and great.

I bought it in France. I do not know if it is allowed on this forum to make a link to a website. If you want I can give you the link by email but I'm not sure that the seller ship abroad. Yet there is one video on the website, you can see the Xexun platform.

guy_le_gamesh Posted - 01 sept. 2014 : 22:37:39
With my Coban GPS102B (=TK102-2)I get many sms like you if I don't send to the tracker : "nomove123456"
With my Xexun XT011 I get only 1 sms.
tekfrank Posted - 01 sept. 2014 : 22:32:37
YEs U have activated move alarm BUT it should send me only 1 SMS when the car moves ! Not 2 or 5 sms everytime when the car stops ! Am I wrong ? Thanks for your help.
guy_le_gamesh Posted - 01 sept. 2014 : 22:25:01
Hi Tekfrank,
What SMS do you get when the car moves ? Maybe have you activate "move" alarm ? to stop this alarm : nomove123456
tekfrank Posted - 01 sept. 2014 : 22:20:22
Thank you for your reply.

So you think I should use TK102 in GPRS mode with the code that you shared ? It works fine and is easy to use ?

I was scared to use GPRS as SMS was already not so reliable...

barbudor Posted - 01 sept. 2014 : 21:59:30
I never used the MOVE alarm nor the SMS mode.
I am using it in GPRS with my own grown server (based on the code I shared on this forum - search : tk2www).
I was considering doing my own tracker to fully control its features, already purchased the parts for the prototype but still standing somewhere in a box around here. Procrastination is such a pain
tekfrank Posted - 01 sept. 2014 : 21:50:00
Hello, so happy to know that this forum is not dead !

Have you been using TK102 for a long time ? I only use it for SMS but i always get more than 1 SMS when the car moves, is it normal ?

Thank you so much.
barbudor Posted - 01 sept. 2014 : 21:42:03

As far as I know the file I shared is complete :
However I never played with commands from server to tracker.

Commands/answers concerning the MOVE alarms seems to be on line 44 and 43

I think that to enable the MOVE alarm you should send :

And to disable all alarms (can't disable a single alarm):

In column A that should be the tracker's answer.

Worth a try

However, I only own a TK102, not TK102B. So I am unsure if these commands apply fully to the B version.
I got this file from Coban support themselves, so it might worth just to kindly ask.

@tekfrank : I didn't replied because I don't know for sure how to do it.
If your phone is Android, look if "GSM Trinket" can do SMS automation.
There are also other automation tools for Android that might allow you to script something.

Best regards

greetings all, i'm a new user to this forum, i have been reading a lot and got a lot of information from here to get me started before i gotten myself one tk102b, seems like coban.

i used own server with bro barbudor code, it has worked great. now i am trying to send command to tracker through gprs. i can send to enable/disable tracker position update.

however my question is, what is the command to activate 'Move' through gprs (like in sms "move+password <distance>") so that when it moves it alert through gprs and sms?

Looked in the gprs data protocol, only cancel move is provided. Is there a more complete list?
