Hi,
I want to buy three bluetooth GPS receivers, and I want to be able to use them for walking, so I want static navigation to be turned off and I want them to update properly at low speeds. I was looking at the i-Blue737 or the Holux M-1000B because they have a long battery life and they are relatively cheap.
I was told that the i-Blue737 receivers have static navigation turned off for firmware revisions 1.94 and newer. What is the firmware revision of the i-Blue737 receivers you sell?
Can you tell me if static navigation is turned off on the Holux M-1000B? I know that static navigation was on with the previous model, the M-1000.
And is the 10% discount you offer to GPSpassion members on the total order amount, or does it not apply to the shipping?

Thanks a lot, I am attaching the figure to show how much difference there is in tracking from the actual path. I am contemplating to return the unit.

continued : I read some of your postings on superior performance of bt359 at walking speeds on gpspassion. Those postings were dated 2007. Were there any new better gps than bt359 for walking speeds or it is still the best receiver one can have. Appreciate for a quick info so that I can zero in on one unit. I just found globalsat bt-368i on their website. How does it fare against bt359 and holux M-1200E at walking speeds?

There is no fix for that, that's the way it was programmed at the firmware level and multi-path is a classic problem for high sensitiviy GPS systems, it seems SiRF have found ways to improve on that -> http://www.gpspassion.com/fr/articles.asp?id=175&page=9 |

Hi, can anyone tell how to fix the multi-path problem (or crazy tracks much away from the actual walking path) with the Holux M1200-E I am experiencing? I am feeling bad purchasing this unit due to this since it is almost not usable in walking speeds. Not sure if I can return it or not, I got it from Ebay. |

As for the LSB on MTK chipset, based on my latest comparisons I wouldn't worry about it too much, see http://www.gpspassion.com/fr/articles.asp?id=258 but SiRFstarIII remains a better choice for use on foot in terms of accuracy/multipath mitigation. |

I'm sorry to reanimate an old thread, but I was just informed by Holux that the static (low speed) fix problem is applicable to ALL Holux M1200 units and is essentially the bug/feature of the MTK chip. I'm going to stay away from Holux products with the MTK chips now.

Unfortunately, Holux does not provide firmware to resellers. We recommend that you contact Holux support directly at www.holux.com and see if they can provide the firmware for you.
Otherwise, we recommend any other MTK units with the new 51ch firmware. |

I have a HOLUX M-1200 with old firmware. Is it feasible to update firmware or shoul I get another one to solve LSB? |

All i-Blue 737 now uses new 51ch firmware. We recommend this unit over Holux M-1000B. Qstarz 818 has similar performance and design compared to i-Blue 737. The main difference is larger capacity battery. i.Trek M7 is currently the best unit in terms of function. It offers dual USB / Bluetooth interface and up to 5Hz update rate. |

you have both i-Blue737 and Holux M-1000B receivers. Please say me, which one is better. i am planning to buy a BT GPS receiver. I think about i-Blue737 Holux M-1000B qstraz 818.
Which one is better as your opinion? Or anything else?

1. Holux M-1200 is a newer unit than M-1000. Thus, the firmware will be V1.92 or later.
2. You can use it with TomTom and iPaq without any problem.
3. Holux M-1200 is not more sensitive than GPSlim 240. However, the battery life is much better due to MTK chipset's lower power consumption. We think M-1200 is a great alternative to GPSlim 240. |

About to purchase a M-1200, wanted to confirm that Semsons will indeed ship me a receiver with updated firmware that will allow me to track at walking speeds.
Planning to use this with an iPAQ and TOMTOM NAV 6.0. Any expected problems?
Lastly, I'm purchasing this instead of the GPSlim 240 because of increased sensitivy and longer battery life. Is this save to say? Any disadvantages of the M-1200 vs 240?

In india too i clarified regarding the MTK chipset firwmare being shipped in Holux M1000 being sold by Itemsofdesire.com and was told it's the post V1.92 one ...

Yes, all the i-Blue 737 and Holux M-1000B we sold are received within one month. Thus, they all have the latest firmware without low speed tracking issue. |
