Posted - 11 nov. 2002 : 08:50:25 You may have noticed a new "Paypal Donate" icon in the bottom left part of your screen when you visit GpsPasSion.com.
To step back in time a bit, this site was launched 3 months ago to host the review of the Bluetooth GPS evaluation sample that I had bought. I originally planned to post a review on a message board, but I found that device so groundbreaking that I thought it deserved better than that. I also realized that while a lot of info was floating around, there was no place to go to get a broad picture of what was available in terms of navigation software and GPS hardware. Being on a sabbatical of sorts, I had some time to spare.
However, 3 months down the road, I'm slowly realizing that the work involved in maintaining this website (news, detailed reviews, summary tables, etc...) is probably a bit more than I had bargained for and is taking time away from more mundane tasks like finding ways to pay the bills...or at least convincing my wife I'm working on it ;-)
Anyway, if you feel my efforts help or have helped you understand the offer in terms of navigation software and GPS hardware or helped you find a good solution for your GPS assisted navigation needs and saved you money in the process, I'd appreciate if you could click on that "Paypal Donate" icon in the bottom left of your screen, make any contribution you feel appropriate, and thus help my case in the eyes of my wife and buy me time to post more exciting reviews and answer more questions!
Thanks for reading.

Posted - 30 oct. 2005 : 21:16:39 If I may be so bold....I am contributing to GpsPassion by providing USA Speed Trap files to POInUSA (currently a meager 723 locations, but growing). Contributions like this will certainly bring in new members, especially for USA POI database starved GPS navigators. Since Garmin now posts GpsPassion as a source for USA custom POI files, GpsPassion forum is now the premier resource for GPS information in the USA and will probably surpass other USA GPS database providers..

Posted - 03 août 2005 : 09:27:58 Hi, you will have to excuse me, but I guess we all have to start somewhere. This whole navigation thing is totally new to me. I was given a Navigon Bluemedia BM6300 as a present. It was bought in the UK, so I have the UK card, Which is cool when I want to visit family, I live in Germany. So I went out and bought a, 1Gig sd 80x Transcend mem card, because I guessed that if I was going to travel down to Italy from Frankfurt I would need at least 3 maps Germany Austria/Alps & of course Italy. Now maybe its me, but even though all the info is on the card, I cant seem to make a seemless route plan, it would seem that everytime I cross the border I will have to stop and select a new map. Does anyone know if there is an easier way of doing this ? Or is there any new software out there that I dont know about? I mean the navi does work, Ive just it to get to a hospital in Ludwigshaven, never been there befor in my life, absolutly spot on. So Im rather happy with the thing, Oh, one other thing, every now and then I get a "UCF Path not found". What is it and could someone please tell me how to stop it :-( I'm sure someone has asked these questions before, but never having used a forum for information, I guess Im a bit of a numbskull. I have not problem with donating, how does it work? Well hope someone can help me - Thanks |

Posted - 20 juil. 2005 : 13:45:46 I made two separate donation of $5.00 each a day apart. would this disqualify me for the discount. I tried getting in touch with gpspassion but I got no response. then I posted on the forum and then I got a response from gpspassion it state "Saw your message, why not just drop me an email on info@gpspassion.com ? Guillaume". I can not find that post anymore to see if I got a response to my concern.

Posted - 03 juil. 2005 : 01:29:15 GPSPassion: I was just checking my records and noticed that it is over a year ago that I joined the GPSPassion Club. From time to time I view several forums on various subjects but I regularly subscribe to GPSPassion because I think it is one of the best in its field. You do seem a bit pompus at times but that makes two of us and I believe you provide a worth-while service to people who want to know more about GPS mapping. I also believe that your forums have prompted, and contribute to, the improvement of GPS mapping applications. For that reason, I have just sent another a financial contribution and my encouragement to continue with this most worthwhile endeavour.
