I have a XXL540TM. Just loaded the new maps and OS today. So, these are innitial observations and reactions.
For the status bar, some of the changes are nice, but some are inexplicable. The lane turn guidance at the very left was fine there. Why did they move it?
The pretty speed limit sign: I hated it. It was a different shape and presentation compared to the current speed indication, so comparison of the two was far more difficult. FAIL.
However, the problem is ameliorated by adding more things to be displayed (everything except...is it "lag"?...). By requiring more data to be displayed, the speed limit sign is eliminated to make more space, returning the display to a more side-by-side presentation of the speeds.
I think the SIZE of the digits is now smaller. Very bad. If anything they should be bigger to make eyes-on time as short as possible. Think that is a FAIL.
